With NATURAL GAS, the fire is lit with a match or lighter while you turn on the manual valve either on the floor or wall. If you need a valve to help with the flame height, then you can get the AV17 Control Valve.

With PROPANE GAS, you automatically have the manual safety pilot kit which is a standing pilot light that stays lit indefinitely. The control valve is attached to the burner. To light the logs or adjust the flame, you just turn the knob on the pilot kit.

This is a vented gas log burner that must be installed in a fully vented wood burning fireplace. This specialized burner accentuates front ember presentation and adds depth to the flame. It causes the flame to come from the front, back and middle of the logs.

Vented Gas Log sets, which simulate a wood-burning fire, are the most realistic type of gas logs but, just like real fires, lose some of the generated heat up the chimney.
